I know what you’re thinking; “What could you possible know about my blog that I don’t?” Somewhat surprisingly, there are a few positive things you’re blog is doing for you and your business that you might not even know about. Keep reading to find out more about why you should continue or reinvigorate your blogging efforts.
For those of you who don’t currently blog, here are just a few things that a blog post could be doing for you. Hopefully you read them and realize you’re missing out, and that it’s time to start a blog.
Let’s dive in to the list!
- It is helping your website be found on search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. if you’re posting it on your website. That’s because blogging is important to search engine optimization, or SEO (read why SEO is important here). Q: What would you do to be found online by someone who was looking for help your business can provide? A: Write a blog!
- It’s adding valuable content (& some content marketing!) to your website. You know more about your field and business than someone outside of it; that should be obvious. What isn’t obvious is that your customers, leads, and prospects want to know what you know quickly and succinctly. Your blog does that for them. The bonus for you is that they will come back for more.
- It’s giving you great material for email marketing topics and social media posts. Save yourself some time by writing a blog, and then using the same basic information (visuals and takeaways) to create an email marketing piece. The social media part is even easier, simply copy your blog URL and paste it directly in the post, then tell followers a new blog is up.
In an effort to keep this post short, I left out many of the other things a blog pulls double duty on (such as facilitating customer engagement and providing an avenue to reinforce/explain special sales & promotions).
But hopefully I’ve still been able to show you that a blog does a lot more for you than you may know and that you should keep at it or maybe start. Contact us at Magnus if you want to learn more about why blogging is important, or take the first steps towards starting your own blog.
